Description:

No interdorsal ridge. No markings or coloration on fins or on end of nose. Has elongate body with grey to blue coloring and a white belly. Snout is moderately long and pointed. Teeth are the same shape in upper and lower jaw and are smooth and pointed. Origin of second dorsal fin above the origin of the anal fin. Origin of first dorsal fin intersects with pectoral fin.

Adults Distinguishing Characteristics:

Finetooth Shark lacks the black smudge on the tip of nose and fins that spinners and blacktips have. Finetooth can be distinguished from Atlantic Sharpnose by the lack of spots on the side and the similar size teeth on both upper and lower jaw where the atlantic sharpnose has long upper labial furrows.
