Adults Distinguishing Characteristics:

The Bluntnose Stingray's snout is not as pointed as Atlantic Stingrays, and its wingtips are not as rounded as the Atlantic Stingray. The Bluntnose Stingray's anterior margin of its wings are convex whereas Southern Stingray margin are more concave. Southern Stingray also only have the ventral (bottom) dorsal fold.

Habitat:

Coastal waters including ocean beaches, bays, estuaries and river mouths; often on sand/mud bottoms
